The problem

Planning your wedding can be overwhelming and if finding the venue of your dreams is becoming a trouble you certainly won't be excited anymore. No more endless searching for the perfect venue and no more waiting to book visitations.

Project vision

le Mariage is a wedding planning website that allows users to plan their perfect day, from booking the venue to planning their honeymoon destination. The main goal for this project was to create the user flow for booking a ceremony venue, making it easy, stress free and fun for the users.

Pain points

Time

Working young adults and adults are too busy to waste their time searching lots of venues and still waiting for replies from vendors.

Navigation

Websites to book wedding venues are hard and confusing to navigate, becoming overwhelming with all the information.

Information

Websites should include photos, videos and other ways (360º view) to show the venue and some of them are lacking in that area.

Experience

Searching for ceremony venues online can be overwhelming and be a bad experience for the user, making them frustrated.

Paper wireframes

Drawing the paper wireframes made sure that the elements of the digital wireframes were well thought out and would suit the user's pain points.

Screen size variations

le Mariage is accessed on a variety of different devices, so I worked on different additional screen sizes to make sure the site would be fully responsive.

Responsive designs

I included considerations for additional screen sizes in my mockups based on my earlier wireframes.
Usually users use websites in different equipment, such as a desktop, tablet and a mobile phone, so it just felt right to make le Mariage a fully responsive website.

Takeaways

The le Mariage website made users feel like they could complete the process because it's "simple, easy to use, clean and well-designed".

While designing the le Mariage website I learned that the smallest thing can be a huge change and affect the whole user experience. It's really important to listen to the feedback and focus on the needs of the users instead of what we think they need.

Next steps

If I were to continue this project my next step would be to conduct another usability study to confirm if the changes made after the last one met the users pain point previously identified and identify new areas of need and ideate new features.
